It feels. Gaming Tein Flex Z Coilovers . I daily drive this car, and do have experience with coilovers (daily'd a 2002 Forester with Raceland Primos). I also have the OEM Subaru Weather Trunk mat and i've had to abandon using that to avoid damaging the Coilovers. I guess if comfort with an upgrade in handling is what you're going for, set the coilovers to have 0-ish preload and set the dampers at 10/16 in the front and 6/16 in the rear. I recently installed a set of 2nd hand Tein Flex Z’s on my ‘21 WRX, with that being said the coilover in the front passenger side makes a clunking noise when it only goes over bumps (no clunking noise when in full lock). These coilovers literally feel so comfortable. Anyone running Tein Flex Z coilovers I was thinking about getting the Tein Advance Z for my 1993 Del Sol, but since they're kind of expensive over here in Italy (about 900$ and on top of that I'd also get new top mounts for an additional $200), I was wondering what you went with, and how you liked what you got. These are sealed twin tube coilovers—not serviceable. It’s a third generation coil. The ride quality can be similar to stock if you set the dampers closer to soft. Not exactly the same price point but I cancelled my Flex Z order and ended up with a set of Fortune Auto 510's. I'm a really big fan of them thus far. No top hat or camber adjustment, no full body adjustment. She rides smooth. I kind of want the coilovers to settle, get an alignment, then have fun and explore the new setup. I have the Tein Street Flex and my rear adjustment knobs on the rear struts also poke up like that. A 1 inch drop on these Tein coilovers will probably allow for a comfortable ride. I think you could get a set of BC gold coilovers with 8 and 6 kg Springs and get them revalved for the light spring rates and you would have something quite similar to the tein comfort series. With that being said, I'd say get the best you can afford. I am on 8 clicks back from full stiff all around, and the other night when I went to adjust the rears, I noticed one was at 10, and one was at 5. I was able to adjust the fronts from the same height as the rears to where they are now, but the rear springs have no more room for adjustment. Pay a few bucks more and get the CSG-Spec version, too.
